International Artist Joy Fahey originally comes from the UK. She studied art, dance and
drama at the Arts Educational Trust in London and as well as painting she also became a
professional dancer and teacher. She returned as a mature student to continue her studies in
art at the Manchester School of Art and went on from there to hold several exhibitions in
London, Liverpool, Hong Kong winning the Laing prize at the Ginnel Gallery in Manchester.
Since moving to Spain in 2000 Joy has continued to exhibit her work as well as setting up an
Art Academy holding regular art classes and workshops in Marbella.
Her work is very versatile as you can see here from the many different pictures. Having
specialised in traditional watercolour painting for many years her style changed dramatically
since moving to Spain. Her love of colour inspired by the wonderful light of the Coast and
her bold forthright approach to her abstract pieces give many interesting dimensions to her
multifaceted work. Joy continues to explore and develop her creative imagination and flair
in different media's focusing on colour relatonships, and the wonder of expression through
painting.
